Title: Fender alignment?

I need your help. Again.

I'm in process of welding the front fenders in place and don't know how to align the bottom edge.
I placed a straight edge along the horizontal chrome molding of the door (tho one with a rubber strip). The door seems to be clearly curved (crowned).

If I slide the straight edge forward, should the same curvature continue in the front fender?
What if I slide it backwards, should the curvature continue in the rear fender?

Any help will be greatly appreciated...

I just checked the other door and it was straight.

So, the doors actually should be straight, not curved ? ???
