Title: ngk plugs BP6ES or 5ES? plus suggested gap please
Post by: Paul99 on September 23, 2012, 18:24:23
Looks like the best plugs for a 66 230 good engine (no oil burn/good commpression etc) are either 6ES or 5ES - is that still the case?  and gap size please?

Lots of replies to that one if you perform a search.

I am replacing Bosch W6DC gapped at 29 thousandths with NGK BP5ES and I will gap them at 35 thousandths, but I have a Pertronix Ignitor installed and a Bosch red coil.  I run a rebored engined with 3000 km since the last overhaul, even and good compression on all six, no noticeable oil consumption over the last 2000km since I changed the oil.  The plugs I am replacing display the light brown color that we like to see.
