Since we are celebrating our 280SL's 44th Birthday, I thought I would repost some grainy black and white photos I took back in 1968. The first two were taken through the dealer's windows the night before I took delivery while the car was still on the showroom floor (they had not managed to get the green coating off the whitewalls yet). The next two were taken the evening I drove it home for the first time. The sticker in lower right corner of the windshield was the temporary California registration and in the third picture, the Mercedes Invoice sticker is visible on the driver's side rear window. The tires looked pretty good but the coating left a "greenish" tint so they were replaced under warranty.

Thanks Stan, I think if you look back through the Photo Gallery you will find many of my posts with current and vintage photos of my car. It is very photogenic as are all our Pagodas :)
