I just picked up a copy of "Classic Mercedes - Celebrating the World's Greatest Cars" at the local Barnes and Noble store. This is from the folks that publish Mercedes Enthusiast in the UK. The stated intent is for the mag to be published quarterly, with the next one due on 5 Oct 2012.
This issue has a wide range of articles, but a set of articles on ......the Pagoda! I have not had a chance to read through it yet, just wanted to let the group know about it. The intro article "White Delight" from the pictures anyway, is an exercise in, "Gee, that isn't right....".
Cool to see a new mag dedicated to MB classics.

I've read about it, I think I take a subscription for it, looks great to me.

Looks nice...the UK is keen on these kinds of magazine. On this side of the pond,
we tend to tout American Metal and "furreners" are a bit ignored.
I've collected Pagoda articles from several Brit mags over the years, have about four or five.
All of them , yes all of them, are about the 230SL as in the one in this new magazine.
Haven't any Pagoda 250's or 280's made it to the UK?

The article discusses all versions 230,250 and 280SL

Spot on, Richard! The UK seems to publish all manner of low-volume interesting magazines, in many topics besides automobilia. I get Pianist, and several Photoshop and Macintosh magazines...all from our friends in the UK.

I have subscribed and have received the first issue. it is very good quality and I recommend it. It was difficult to get the online subscription site to work so I ended up calling them.

Just read issue 2. Great article & photography of a Mechtronik restored sl but this time to original spec. Wonderful colour combo of Horizon blue with cream hardtop and cognac interior. So beautiful they put it on the cover. Anyone's here?

I'll look out for this but interesting. I visited Mechatronik in August 2006 and took this photo in their front office... not acream hardtop but...

It's the same one James. The article says it is a customer car they restored and he lets it be used as a demonstrator in return for maintenance. Not sure about that deal. In the magazine article, the hard top is the same colour as the hub cap centres.
-
I'd do that deal!

Did you get your car sorted James?
