Title: Recommendation for Garage/Body Shop in London
Post by: michael on August 09, 2012, 22:48:12
Hi,

need a recommendation for a reliable garage/body shop in London, just had some body work done on my 1968 280sl and I am not at all happy with the standard of the paint job or the quality of the bodywork so any recommendations where I can have the botched work done properly would be much appreciated.

thanks

Michael

Have you tried 'stickandrudderman' aka Colin Ferns on this site.

Indeed, I am on a crusade to wrestle all pagodas from the hands of the butchers that seem to have left their mark on 95% of UK pagodas.
I'm thinking of having a new company slogan: "Forging a path through mediocrity in order to lead you to excellence!"

Stick,

Sounds like you need a sign like my barber his is "I fix bad haircuts"

Maybe "I correct the errors of others" ;D

Hi there,

I am new to the site but have been building a 1965 230 SL for four years.I have just got my car back from a bodyshop and the job they did was incredible.I have owned two bodyshops and am a painter myself so I know what to look for in terms of imperfections and my customer base is the accident repair industry.
If you are prepared to take a drive to Aldershot in Hampshire, try Drive Vauxhall , it sounds the most unlikely place to have a classic done but they leaded my car where they could, painted and polished the car too. They also rubberised underneath and painted the underside the same colour as the car. I have attached a few pictures but to be fair they don't do it justice.
