Title: positioning drain holes in new water pump
Post by: rutger kohler on July 31, 2012, 07:05:45
I am replacing my water pump impleller/bearing unit. There are two drain holes in the housing diametrically opposed to each other, should these be positioned at the top and bottom when the unit is bolted in?  It appears the fixing bolt holes on the flange would allow the housing to be bolted with the two holes  in other postions.

Try to keep one hole at or near the bottom. The hole is for drainage in the event the pump starts to leak.

Thanks for that, it's what I thought but got confused with the two drain holes.
