Title: Full throttle
Post by: Montreal V8 on July 19, 2012, 21:33:57
Hi all. I am unable to obtain full throttle. After running the linkage set up carefully, the problem persists. I have found the following situation - with the IP rod disconnected, the ball at the pump end of the cross shaft requires 2.80" of travel to give a "stop to stop" action at the throttle. The socket on the IP rod travel is 2.435" , "stop to stop" . When all is connected, there is a .150" gap at the throttle full open stop. The car runs well, but I'm puzzled. Any suggestions ?  Cheers, Dale.

It's supposed to have a gap before the throttle stop while both should return fully to the zero position when released. I think full throttle is set at 82 degrees on both levers even though the air control valve opens faster through mid range.

Thanks, Dan. That explains why the car showed no signs of poor performance. Both the pump and throttle return fully, and open simultaneously, so all is well. Another of lifes little mysterys solved. Cheers, Dale.
