Helllo,

I am restoring a 1965 230 SL. Can someone tell me how to install the hardtop rear window glass trim? Does the chrome trim, rubber seal and glass have to be installed simultaneously or is there a way to install the trim after the seal and glass are installed? Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

The glass with rubber seal goes in first.  Then you install the chrome parts starting with the big lower chrome trim part.
The lower chrome trim needs its front edge  to be Inserted into a cut section in the rubber seal. I used some trim plastic tools and  some soapy water or glass cleaner to insert the chrome trim into the rubberseal with more ease. Then once that is done fix the chrome trim to the underside of the HT using the screws. The remaining upper three chrome parts can then be installed.
