Title: Refinishing of fuel and oil filter canisters

Can anyone inform me as to the best way of cleaning or refinishing these kinds of items.
Is there a specialist product available or  just good old-fashioned elbow grease?

They oil filter canister at least, should be a raw aluminum.  Wheel cleaner or aluminum cleaner shoud help you.  You can paint or powder coat in a fresh aluminum color if you want...
