Title: Electric radio antenna switch
Post by: Pawel66 on June 03, 2012, 15:46:51
Dear All,

As per the data card my car was ordered without a radio, but with an automatic/electric antenna.

Do you know if the antenna was operated through a radio (antenna out when the radio turned on) or should it have a separate switch somewhere on the dashboard? And if so - what kind of switch was it and where was it located?

Best regards,
Paweł

On a Becker radio, antenna should be operated directly from the set. There is a connector at the back for this purpose, and the antenna will rise up when you switch the radio on.
I don't know for the other brands (Blaupunkt...).

Hope this helps

Same for the Blaupunkt. My original failed a after a few years and I replaced it with a manual antenna.

Thank you gentlemen, it is a great help!

It suggests the antenna operation by the set itself - this is what I thought...

Thanks!

If the Becker radio has a remote amp, the antenna control connection is on the amp, otherwise it is on the back of the main radio.
