Title: Tyres white wall

Can anyone out there help me? ???
I need a set of 195-75-R14 H WHITE WALL TYRES for my
280SL .
Either for sale in Germany (preferable) or the UK.
White walls seem to be difficult to come by here in Germany.
I'd sure appreciate any guidance towards a supplier.

Well, two well known tyre dealers in Germany are Moeller in Quickborn  http://www.moeller-reifenservice.de/ (http://www.moeller-reifenservice.de/) or MOR in Holzkirchen  http://www.oldtimer-reifen.com/en/michelin.html (http://www.oldtimer-reifen.com/en/michelin.html)
Both can deliver whitewalls for you.
Note, the original dimension radial tyres fitted to our Pagodas were 185-14, those are indeed available from, among other vendors, Michelin and Vredestein

Hope your weather is as good as ours down here, just had a temperature
in my VW Camper of 34Degrees.

Hi Brian

MBZSE (sounds like a poorly wasp) is correct re the correct tyre size being 185's, that said the only correct whitewalls I have found are the Phoenix ones at about £300 each.

I have found these though in 195/75 which are only £69 each (if you are OK with the 'incorrect" size)

Very happy with the quality & price. These are the Diamondback range of tyres & white walls. I bought a set of five white walls plus shipping to Australia for AUS$1000

Franjo--these guys will make whitewalls out of anything!  Which tires did you buy?

Hi Michael

I got a special set made up in 205/70/14 size with a 1 inch wide whitewall.

These are a Michelin based radial. Very happy with them ! Tyres are three years old now and there has been no staining or discolouring of the white band. Very easy to clean and maintain

I just bought a set of HANKOOK MILEAGE PLUS II 195/75/14 in W/W
They look and feel good, cost $560 CDN installed, balanced, and I finally got rid of my anoying vibration

Here in the States, UniRoyal (division of Michelin) and Cooper Tires offer 195/75/14 WW. Just bought a set of UniRoyal AWP for my 69.

Is anybody running the Cooper WSW in 195 75/14?  If so, how are they?  Any photos?  I like that the sidewall lettering/markings have more of a nondescript 'vintage' look; the Uniroyal and Hankook are more obviously modern tires.

Any others out there I am unaware of?  I won't pay for the Cokers.

Alan,

You can search for Cooper Trendsetter in that size; there were photos at Summit Racing.  There was also a description that it is "an entry-level tire...for a value oriented customer".  Take that into perspective.  You can probably get it at a local Cooper dealer.  About $85 each.

There aren't a lot of WW options available I'm afraid, and I'd probably stick with something that someone has used.  Maybe somebody has these and can offer a review.

Yes, I am hoping somebody already has them and can comment.  They are on display at the local Pep Boys, but would really like to see them mounted on a W113. 

High performance tires they are not, but I have to think any modern radial will be better than bias-plys...
