Hello, I have a lot of older MB brochures, I show you here some pictures about them, if you like I will Post more.
Greetings: Ger.
First one is the Type 500 from 1937.
-
Some more pictures of it.
-
Ger - thanks for posting - these are very cool!! I like the model name on the bottom photo - the "Offender"!
-
Ha, you mean the 'Open Touring' car, it's a German brochure, they call it 'Offener Tourenwagen'.
-
Here another beautiful car the 540K from 1937.
-
and these.
-
What a car.
-
Ger, thanks for posting. They are very cool.
-
Here an original brochure of the legendary SSK from 1928.
-
Very cool, and interesting to see the old, "art" style covers. I believe img-0367 was used on the cover of J Mehles book on the SSK's (don't remember if it was book 1 or book 2). Traveling now, so unable to check.
-
Here some pics of my recently buyed Pagode, I hope you like them.
Greetings: Ger.
-
Here some pics of Ponton brochures of the Fifties.
-
Hi Ger,
Many thanks for sharing your brochures, it would be interesting to know how you came by them and how long you / your family has had them.
Below are some pages from the sales book that origonally came with our 280SL
If you can read it you will notice a slight error on the spec sheet, maximum speed 200 MPH
If you send me your PM I could scan all pages and forward to you, but I gues you already have material on the W113
Thanks again
Treedoc
-
Hello Treedoc, I collect the brochures for more than 30 years now so I have alot of them, I think they made a little mistake with the 200 mph, it should be 200 km/u. Thanks for your offer to scan the pages from the W113 brochure but as you already guessed, I have them all.
Greetings: Ger.

Here some more pics.
-
Here the famous 300 SL 'Gullwing'.
-
and some more pics of it.
-
And the Roadster.
-
Here some pictures of a nice MB Police car brochure from 1959.
-
Absolutely beautiful brochures - Thank you for sharing.
Something I've never seen before - 190sl Funkstreifenwagon Radio car – max speed of 112 MPH - how many minutes would that take?
-
Here some pictures of a Type 380 brochure from 12-1933.
-
and some more.
-
Technical Data.
-
Here a German victory brochure from 1940.
-
Here a little brochure for the International Motor Exhibition Olympia London of 1934, not in the best condition but maybe that gives extra charm to it.
-
I absolutely love old car literature, brosures, advertisements. I would like to open the topic of having an on-line collection of literature. Take a look at this link on the Jag Lovers forum pages:
http://www.jag-lovers.org/brochures/
Specific example - the X-type:
http://www.jag-lovers.org/brochures/section_s-type.html
This is a wonderful resource.
I wonder if there is a good place in this forum for digitized Mercedes literature...
Have a look at the Jag stuff - it is wonderful.
Your Mercedes literature is really great and reminded me of the Jag pages...
Scott

You'r right Scott, looks great, but the problem with the thicker brochures is that they are glued together so if you want to scan them then you have to open the brochure completely and the glue will brake so the pages are coming loose ,there is no problem when the brochures are stapled or have a ring mounting.
-
Here another small brochure from 1934/35.
-

It wouldn't work well for bound brochures (but photographs could still do a pretty good job).
-
I will give it a try Scott. I will post the result here.
-
I don't know if it is the right place here on this forum because I think alot of members are only interested in the Pagoda and not in other MB's.
You see a high score on views but only a few reactions if they like it.
-
I think they are great, more please :)

Hello Scott, I did give it a try but the MB brochures from the 50's and 60's are mostly from a bad quality if you open them completely then the pages are coming loose. I show you some examples in the pictures below.
1st a picture from the 200 Fintail from 1965.
2nd a 220 Convertible brochure from 1954.
3rd a 300S brochure.
On the last picture you see the binding of a prewar brochure, they are from a much better quality and are glued and stapled.
The thicker Jaguar brochures are stapled or had a spiral bounding.
-
Here some pictures from a foldout brochure of the Type 460 (Nurburg) of 1929. Look at the nice wooden wheels.
-
Here pictures from a brochure from around 1923 before the merger between Mercedes and Benz (1926) it describes the 6-cilinder models of that time.
-
and some more pictures of it.
-
Here some pics of the German brochure of the 540K from 1938.
-
Here some more.
-
Gerster,
Thanks for sharing this.
Looking at the last one you posted, the red one; you know what model that is? I would like to google it and see some real pictures of it. Looks great.

Pascal

The red-one is the Special Roadster Pascal, it's in my opinion the most beautiful Mercedes of all times.
Greetings: Ger.
-
Ger,
OK the 540 special roadster, I am slow thinker apparently ::)
Just googled this and seen some are sold over 6M$, one even over 11M
I agree that is a very nice one .
thanks !

For those interested in their own collection, I have had some good success with these folks...

Alll of those 1930's cars are Full Classic today. The ones from the 1950's and 60's are Milestone cars as are our Pagodas.
I have a small collection of similar literature and over 50 dealers books from the 50's and 60's. Some of them are for trucks and engine blocks - not sure how rare those are today. I also have a dealers price list from 1966. Amazing how much prices have increased over the years and in particular, these last couple of years.
-
Here's a shot from an MB Brochure of a 1968 280 SL. But its not is it? Probably a 250SL used for an early printed piece. Note the rocker panels are the same color as the body...what the heck???
