Currently doing up my 280SL. The fuel pump ( replacement MB replaced about 10 years ago and car little used)
is filling with and leaking fuel. Is it viable to rebuild or should I just replace?
Also have been told that some BMW pumps can be used , not desirable perhaps but practical for a non show car.
Im in Australia so that effects some decisions. Comments pls guys, all help appreciated.

Hi,
Two types of fuel pumps are used.
In the later shorter pump, the motor actually runs wet.
Both types are repairable.
Have a look in the Tech Manual:

Good luck
