Title: Coco Mats
Post by: Garry on March 23, 2012, 23:53:12
Some years ago we did a group buy for coco mats for both LH and RH vehicles.

We provided some details to allow for the RH pads and now that time has gone by and I am sure that there are lots of new members that might be interested, is there sufficient interest to do another group buy and gain the discounts in both the initial buy and the shipping costs>

If so we would need someone in US, UK and here in Aust.

Here is the thread from last time I think

Garry,

Is there that much to be gained by a group buy? I purchased coco mats for my 250 SL some years back and the price did not seem that bad. The coco mats folks had the requisite pattern, and I just ordered them on line.

Johnny,

Only 10 - 15% on the buy but someone in UK had to supply them with the RHD patten last time.  On shipping they are quite large and heavy so grouping outside the US can save up to 50% or more on shipping costs and those costs can be half the cost of the mat.

Garry,

Thanks for the clarification. Good point about the shipping cost differences. I did not realize there could be that much savings.

Larry

Doesn't look that way.

Maybe just have to go it alone. If there was others in the UK then we could combine and seek discount and collect at the Euro tour?

Last time out, I think Jeff doubled up the orders: two sets of mats per shipment. One of these then had to be got to the final buyer but in the UK they came through free of customs charges and of course, reduced actual shipping

I have just finished templating RHD mats for the Range Rover Evoque and will likely be getting a set shipped to London if anyone is willing to double up...

I see that they quote $90 shipping to Aust and $70 to UK with second ones shipped for $50 and $40 UK with our mats quoted at $140 USD less the discounts that they offer to us for a bulk order.  Up a little bit from the last order at $117 a set.

Did your price include shipping?

Hi Eric,
Thanks for that, I have recently installed a new carpet set thanks.
I will request a brochure on the 'coco mats' and take a look
at what he has to offer.

Eric,
The coco mats from Patrick Weller are nothing like the USA ones.
More like door mat for wiping your shoes on.
So it is back to any other interest in Uk for the
american mats?

Gentleman

If you are still looking I would be interested in a front set. I presume I would get a choice of colour/pattern?

Peter,

Go to the Coco Mats site, http://www.cocomats.com/style.htm there are lots of colours and when an order is placed each of us will get the opportunity to select colour of choice.

I ordered some at an earlier buy and they are excellent items and a plus for the car.

Garry,

Many thanks, black with grey dots seems to be right for my car which is silver with black MB Tex.

Peter.
