Title: Replacing transmission hoses
Post by: n/a on June 09, 2004, 01:17:02
Is it necessary to prime the system in any special way once I have replaced the two transmission hoses that run from the bottom of the  radiator, or can I just fit them, top up the system and run the engine to do the rest?

I did the latter, do make sure the fluid is at the correct level when done (warm engine, oil level at top of range). No special priming required AFAIK.

Thanks Cees.  All done, quite a simple job although oen of the new pipes is horribly close to the base of the rotating pulley from the alternator.  The pipe does have a protective 'spring' aroudn it an dit doesn't ahve much play so I guess the 8mm gap or so should be fine.
