Hi Everyone,
My UK 67 230 auto is generally running quite well, but I notice significant jumping of the strobe when I try and set up the ignition timing.
My distributor has about 110,000 miles, and has a marked grove where the ball bearing runs on the top plate.
I think it has significant wear.
I've read a lot of the threads on original versus electronic ignition, and on ballance I think I'd like to stay standard.
Does anyone know where I can find a rebuild kit in the UK/Europe for an 051 distribultor?
My web searches haven't turned up much so far.
Many thanks,
Steve.

I admire your desire to stay original but you just cannot beat a 123 ignition even
against a refurbed 051.

Yes, I can understand that viewpoint.
And I must admit that I have never understood why those clever Bosch designers didn't fit the distributor with some form of incremental adjuster which would have made dwell adjustment so much easier.
Ultimately, all the arguments become academic if I can't find a rebuld kit!

Dan Caron (Dr Benz / Benz Barn) in Canada at one point had rebuild sets, he may be able to help you out.
