I ran across this neat light while reading Hemmings Sport and Exotic. It is called a "light mine" from the resemblance to the old navy mines. The device is about 9 cm across. The spikes are magnetic and make it easy to place in very odd places. The white LED light seen in the pictures has two brightness settings. There is a red LED opposite the white light, that can be either on or blinking. The the red button, is the on/off/cycle switch. You click and in succession get low white, bright white, steady red, flashing red, then back to off. Made by Striker. Cost about $25 US. Quite handy.

I like that. I've been struggling to find a good bright adjustable light that doesn't suck the power . Dewalt offered a companion
LED light for a while and I really like it, but can't clamp it on in all the places I'd like. Most of the time I use a painters light because you can clamp it on almost anywhere and get it aimed where you need it, but I haven't found a really bright non-incandescent bulk. The power at my house/shop is 100% off the grid solar, so a 200w bulb is out of the question.
