Title: Good taste runs in the family...
Post by: Ulf on February 13, 2012, 08:35:50
Just came across this picture in a family album - it's my mother in a Pagoda somewhere in Sweden in the late 60's. Unfortunately, it was a rental, but she remembers it with fondness overtaking rows of agricultural Volvos. As she remembers the car was a light blue automatic :-)

Interesting side marker light.  Looks like it is only on the front.  Haven't seen them like that before.

She's absolutely beautiful, Ulf    Did your Dad take the picture? - - or maybe one of her girlfriends?  Thanks for the post, mate - it's all about the memories, family, friends, love, heart and soul, laughter and tears !

Cheers, Hank

Thanks Hank. That was before my dad entered the picture, so it must have been an ex-boyfriend, think he was American btw - Scandinavian blondes were also popular in the 60's ;-)
But you're right on the money when it comes to the value of nostalgia - while roaming through the same photo album I came across another photo of my parents sailing on my fathers 48-foot ketch (sailboat) from 1948. I managed to track that very same boat down on the internet and now it sails with tourists off Nova Scotia in Canada - so now I'm trying to put my father in touch with the current owners.

@Jordan - the side markers were (and still are) a mandatory addition here (think it also applies to Italy). They have to be of a certain size and a certain height above the ground. I had to drill holes for them in my pristine MGA that came from the US, which were a bit nerve-wrecking...
