Title: WRD insulation
Post by: glenn on February 12, 2012, 17:20:05
Has anyone insulated the WRD coolant line from the head and the WRD thermo housing itself- to make sure hot, 200+ coolant gets to the WRD???....

Hello Glenn,

I suspect it is all relevant. The engine thermostat should maintain the temperature in the system whether the heat loss is at the radiator, cabin  heater, the WRD pipe or anywhere else in the cooling system.

Joe, Re: WRD    Have you ever put a washer under the snap ring inside the WRD slide valve?  If so, where did you get it?

I'm not Joe, but when I needed to add them I just dug around in my washer pile until I found something suitable.

Hello Glenn,

Adding a shim here shuts off the air valve sooner.  Here is a source of metric shims ..............................................   http://www.mcmaster.com/#standard-metric-shims/=g8mzy2
