I am missing the chrome/ss screw and raised washer that go under the arm rest for securing the door panel to the door. I have them for one side but not the other. They are no longer available from the Classic Center apparently. The one washer I have is badly pitted so would be interested in two if someone has two in good condition. Thanks

I got two of each from my MB dealer, the only problem was the screws are black and the washers are slightly different (not as thick with a slightly largder OD).

Thanks Eric. I was told they are substituting these black ones now for the chrome. Since I already had one correct I was hopeful someone might have a spare left over from a previous restoration or fix up. I am looking for both the screw and washer.

For anyone interested the part #s are as follows,
Countersunk washer N 900056 005005 (slightly different size)
Screw N000000 005 09 (this is black not chrome)

Hi Eric,
is that a regular M5 fine thread screw? I am also trying to find the correct screw for this location.
According to the parts list it should be a sheet metal screw (DIN 7983; 4.8 x 16 mm). However the hole in the plate of my 230SL has a thread that fits an M5 screw.
The corresponding M5 DIN screw would be a DIN 966.
I am hoping that the owners of 230SL or early 250SL cars could take a look and letting us know please what they have, sheet metal screw or normal thread, and possibly length and thickness.
Thanks!

OK guys, I have removed a screw for you...
but maybe not an original from 1967 !
Hope this helps
keep well

Alfred, the one I have looks like the one pictured by John (domed head), late model Euro 230SL. By the way I am still in need of a screw and washer for my drivers side door if anyone has a spare or knows where to get them.

Hello Paul and John,
thanks a million for the photos and the dimensions.
I am pretty sure John's screw corresponds to a DIN 7983 and since your car is pretty much unmolested that settles the question for me.
Jordan, I can buy the screw in chrome and the washer (although it now has 14mm OD/5mm ID) in Germany and let you know once I know a price with shipping.
