I am glad I don't have to do this to my car. Body work is beyond my skill level. Mechanical repairs are what I can do.
-
A friend of mine had the car and wanted to sell me the hard top, but after some negotiations I ended up purchasing the whole car. I bought the car without seeing it. I knew it was a rust bucket but was surprised when it showed up on the car carrier. The driver had me sign the dotted line and this rust bucket officially belonged to me.
I removed all the parts from the car and assessed the damage. Thanks to K&K MFG for the floor replacements and also with the purchase of some new OEM Mercedes panels I have started welding the body of this car back together.
The engine and transmission need to be rebuild too ;(

Wow you have your work cut out there, keep the pictures coming :)

Babak
It was good talking to you yesterday. I made an offer on some NOS body panels. I'll let you know if I get them and what parts after I talk to the seller. There were many different parts. I'll email you when I find out more info.

BABAK,
You have far more "guts" than I'll ever have. That's quite an undertaking on your part. Good luck and the photos are very interesting.

Hi John
This is probably the dirtiest part of the restoration
Now all the panels are aligned and welded.
Next is more cleaning and the undercoating
Maybe by the weekend

Wow Babak, your pictures remind me of where I was at with my restoration a few years ago. Glad to see that you have made the commitment to go to these lengths to ensure that another W113 lives to drive another day !
Best of luck with it, I am sure she will look amazing when you are done
Regards
