I need to find the little round yellow/orange turn signal lights that are mounted on the front side of the fenders. When I purchased my '63 230SL I did not know it was delivered to a dealer in Italy. The lights were rusted & did not work, so when I had it re-painted the body shop filled in the holes where the lights were mounted. At that time I did not not know the fender lights were required in Italy. I read sometime back that the lights were the same or simliar as those used on Fiats at that time. Anyone have info. about this or where I can obtain new lights?

Hello Paul - these are the same lights as used on the little Fiat 500's of the era, and no doubt many other Italian cars. I bought a couple of sets years ago at a parts place for these vintage Fiats for next to nothing (maybe EUR 10 a set as I recall) in Amsterdam. I suggest you look for an internet-based parts seller in Europe for these lights; if that doesn't pan out, let me know and I will see what I can do from over here.

The modern Italian fender light is a nice copy of the original.
Here's a photo of an original and a new Italian light.
Some of the color difference may be because of the way the photos were lighted.

These show up on ebay from time to time, but they are usually overpriced. Someone in Italy should be able to pick these up fairly cheaply at any auto supply store. They were used on all sorts of makes including the Fiats back in the 70 and 80s. I think Marelli made them.
