Post by: catjim813 on November 06, 2011, 17:13:05
Looking for instructions and or pictures to remove chrome at the front of the hard-top on my 69 280sl. Also can this pc be bought or re-plating the answer?  New to the group so forgive me if i am asking things that have been covered.

Got it..... Thx   Alfred...   Worked on the top all day, as mentioned in manual the quarter windows are giving me fits.  I cut away the old rubber pcs but still I still cant get them out.   Also I bent one pc of chrome on the quarter window.   It slid off instead light tapping..  As said many times before this group is worth its weight in gold.  With lots of breaks I should be ready for sanding and prep work tomorrow.   Again Thx for the support and knowledge.

Quarter windows are a problem, no question.
Just be patient and you'll find THE angle were it slips out. Also, use a lot of silicone grease to make things slippery.
