Title: Injector pump
Post by: rocketman1 on October 23, 2011, 12:29:47
Good Morning
A friend of mine who works at a Bosch diesel injection service company here in town, brought by a pump.
He asked me what car it went too.
There records didn't go back that far on Gas injectors.
It's a BOSCH pump in very good condition

I think it's for a 280SL but I'd have to look and see. Aren't 250's R15 pumps?

Yeah Dr., you've been gettin' your hands dirty and not reading enough books.

Hell man, I don't have time to read books!
Besides, I know them by sight not part number, although I'd check to make sure on a critical part like that.

Shop is full of cars right now. Anyone looking for a job?
  3  190SL's
  4  113's
     450SL
     600 SWB
     300SE ( 112 )

Take your pick. They all need to be worked on although one car ( 1957 190SL ) is pretty much finished.

That was just a stupid joke. Found it funny that someone who doesn't have much of a clue (me) was right on a technical point. And I knew exactly why you were wrong: because it's non-essential.

Just  joined the club and looking to start restoring by 69 280 sl  .  Where is a good company that will rebuild and recalibrate my injection pump.  Also where is a good source for the engine rebuild kit ie pistons, valves etc.     Is the pistons made by Male maybe spelled incorrectly a good brand?   Just getting started with a ton of work to do.

Look at the Classic Workshop/Restoration Projects and you'll see a 113 pump rebuild.
