Title: Color of wiper motor

What is the correct color of the wiper motor, 1967 230SL? Mine is black, but i think it may have been painted, as i thought i saw a silver one somewhere

Just found the answer on page 6 of the forum, odd that it didnt come up in my search

Wiper motors are natural steel, unpainted .  I suspect they were cad or zinc plated when new but not yellow dichromated. You can strip off the old paint and clear coat it to be correct.
