Hi folks,
One of these days (if MY economy allows:) I'll replace the the over-rider bumpers on my newly acquired Ingrid, and will take the sleek Euro bumper approach. I'm not crazy about the look of those bumperetts :) but I really do like the look of fog lights in the front. There's not much fog here in Burbank, CA., so I can see where driving lights in place of fog lights would be very beneficial. Also, what is the acceptable way to mount them? From pictures I've seen, they seem to be attached to other than the bumper itself - the splash panel??
Any input from you folks will be greatly appreciated.
Cheers, Hank

Hi Hank,
Be carefull if you decide to replace your origonal bumpers with euro style new one from China, I purchased a set and found the chrome plating to be of poor quality so have not used them.
I reinstalled the origonal bumpers and firstly fitted a pair of period correct driving lights in the holes where the over-riders were attached, didn't like the looks in that position so moved the lights out into the correct position and reinstalled the overiders, see attached imagese

Here's Ole Beige wearing the old Heller fogs.
As far as i know, these fogs were installed when the car was new. They are positioned
further from the center than where Bumper Guards would go. This car is a Euro model and never had Bumper Guards.
As a possibility to use the existing bumper, the Bumper Guard holes could be plugged with Chrome buttons
and new holes drilled for the fogs.
As a preference, I like the look of vintage fogs more then modern driving lights. Hellers and others come up on eBay from time to time. Not too pricey.

Hi Richard & Treedoc,
Could you do me a favor ? - take a close up picture of the fog light mounting point, and either post here or email it to me - hankgarfield@sbcglobal.net
Thanks much :),

This should help place the fog light.
