Title: Camshaft, fuel injection, crankshaft timing
Post by: IXLR8 on July 05, 2011, 00:04:21
Hi--

A few weeks ago, I rotated the engine manually to check the fuel injection plungers for movement and/or to find which plungers might be frozen. All is well with the plungers.

However, when I rotated the engine, I did'nt have a fan belt installed.

Have I messed up the timing between the crankshaft, the cam shaft, and the fuel injection pump?

I believe they are all geared together, but I wanted to double check.

Thanks,

Joe

No problem as the cam and injection pump are controlled by the crankshaft, the fan belt only drives ancillaries like the water pump and alternator (and power steering/aircon).
