Title: What hubcaps are these?
Post by: shelby427 on June 20, 2011, 15:40:05
Hi,

I'm cleaning out my garage and getting rid of things i no longer need. I got 5 of these hubcaps in the trunk when i bought my 280SL. I had the Bundt wheels already on it and just put these up on a shelf. I've searched through Ebay and Google images and can not for the life of me find any others the same - some similar, but not the same. They seem to be genuine Mercedes. I'd just like to know what they are so that i can list them for sale properly.

Thanks.

Those were an aftermaket accesory made in the 80's. The 201 series cars came from the factory with plastic hub caps but not with the bundt style. The aftermaket makers were not permitted to use the star in the center, but some were made in violation of the trademark any way.

Interesting Hub caps, could possibly use tham on my 85 280 SE Euro car.
My car came with hub caps from the 115 and 117 chasis cars.
Would you sell them?

I sold them on Ebay. Got $25 for them. Not sure if that's high or low, but they are now out of my way  ;D
