I just don't know what to say...........
-
very classy ;D
-
Now that the owner has seen what the car actually looks like, it's up for sale, hopefully to a color-blind nbuyer.
LOL
-
Buy it right and change the interior. Not a big deal.
-
Me I am color blind and even I could see the extreme colors used.
The location (Las Vegas) explains it all for me ...
-
Looks like something some porn star could have owned - perhaps the star of XXX classics such as "Saturday Night Beaver", "Good Will Humping" or "Star Whores" (feat. Hand Solo)...
-
The rest of the car is nice. Like john said, change the interior.
-
Pepto Bismal pink!!??
-
It does come with its own sick bucket in front of the gearstick! ( rather small one ) :-\
Tempting !!!
-
Ulf,
Your Netflix account must be an interesting list. :D
-
Suitable for a pimp. Should be no problem finding buyers in Vegas.
-
Pimp mobile with replaced front fenders.
-
I may be a PHP......Paris Hilton Pagoda...... ;)
I'm with John buy it right and change the interior.

What happened in Vegas, shoud stay in Vegas ;D
-
They could've of used it in hangover II ....... sticking with the theme of trashing a classic benz. :o

:-) I just had a little competition with a few friends where the challenge was to come up with as many XXX titles for famous films, great fun with titles such as "Shaving Private Ryan, "The Devil Wear Nada" (starring Meryl Strip) and "Porn on the 4th of July" among others.
Somehow looking at that 280 reminded me of it, no idea why...
Have a nice weekend

long winters in Denmark ;D
-
Time to change the exterior to match!
-
Well guys, even from as far away as Australia dark glasses are still needed to look at the interior, but if you can get past the colour, the quality of work apprears pretty good and the effort to completely change the interior - not just a quick recover of the seats has been pretty massive (read expensive).
The PO has gone to the trouble of fitting an alarm to the hood (check the latch) and so what if its had new guards; IMHO two new guards are better than two bogged originals. So at the right price, allowing for redoing the interior, this would be on my possibles list if I was looking for a brown SL, if I lived in the US and if I had the money.
Cheers
George

Ummm........Wow! ??? What else can one say.
-
I reckon the speakers sound pretty good and - colour of it aside - the coachline stripe works really nicely....it seems to lengthen the car sightly (that or it's my widescreen monitor ;) :D )
-
With the fake Leopold skin floor mats why not just shoot the thing and put it out of it's misery
-
I agree that interior is pretty bad but the car could be saved with a new interior. What the heck would you do with this one??

I reckon the purple engine bay of the second car would fit very well (i.e. clash nicely) with the interior of the other car. Buy both and make a real mess!
-
Look at the engine by real close on the Vegas car, it looks to me that the engine is a M127, not a M130. The brake boster vacuum line looks like it is one that is on the M127. Also the oil filler cap on the cam cover is a screw on type, M130 engine had cam cover with a slot and turn cap, much is like the non-locking gas cap. And last, the cold start solanoid is one from earlier motor. Does anyone agree?

Hi, Robert,
Early M130 engine. The features you describe are of the later engine.
Not exactly sure if the bayonet type filler cap and shorter inlet manifold came with the later cylinder head....

Looks correct to me. Here is a picture of my '69's engine taken in May 1969

this car was in Los Angeles and I belive it belonged to a car collectors wife...He had alot of nice cars
-
I like the description of the second V8 car on EBAY, turnkey, runs and drives just fine. Probably just a slight problem not having a brake master cylinder reservoir. I guess they didn't mention the stopping part.
-
Oh dear, obscene. Why would someone do that to a car ?
Steven.

I love the detail, the pink pin lines down the side and the pin lines around the hub caps. the devil is in the detail you know!!

Hello John,
Just plain beautiful.
Another example of an untouched engine bay picture.
This is the way by which the engine looks best. I have not come accross any restoration yet the comes close to this fully correct applearance.
Even all hose clamps, the shine, etc. ... everything absolutely perfect. ;)
A picture for the coffee table book.
Just plain beautiful.
Thanks a lot for sharing with us, John.

Thanks Achim,
I wish it looked that good today. Here are a couple of current pictures. Hoses and clamps replaced, Tach cable needs to be re routed and the rubber "glove" over the breather pipe/coolant pipe put back on. All the Zink Chromate platting is just about gone too. Wouldn't win any prizes but not too bad for being almost 43 years old ;)
