Hello Gentleman
I have acquired a set of head rests or aka head restraints for my 1968 SL. I seem to have all the pieces; head rests, brackets and the plastic grommets to do this. I have never taken the seats out of my car nor removed the seat backs which I believe is a key part. The technical manual describes how to remove the seats but does not talk about fitting head rests. If anyone can offer advice as to how to go about this I would be very grateful to hear from them.
Kind regards
Peter

Hi Peter i did this job over winter, not too difficult but does involve accurate measuring, drilling etc.
If you fancy a run to Southampton some time i can show you how i did mine.

Thanks Larry,
I will be heading down to Bournemouth in June with the family, so hopefully I will be able to sneak away for an hour or two and take you up on your kind offer. I think it will be the second or third weekend, could I contact you nearer the time when the date is fixed?
Kind regrads

Here's a post I found with pictures of the rail installation. I plan to do this on my 111 soon.
