I know there has been plenty about tyres on the site but was
wondering what tyres European owners are running?

I also have the Vredesteins and will be happy to remeber how good they are when I eventually get my car back together again.

Where did you get the Vredesteins?
Are they 'classic sprint' ?

Tiger Paws 205 whitewalls, but that may be due the fact that my car - although Euro-spec - lived in San Diego for 23 years as they are not vailable over here. I'm quite happy with them, but will change to the original 185/14 without white walls when they wear out.
Not to hijack this thread, but when I look up the 185/14 size here i Denmark, almost all brands I get are specified for light vans, is that a problem?

Van tyres... hmmm... there was a time all we could find in London for a 356 were retreads... and they were great!

Thanks Drew but having trouble finding Vredsteins in stock. Are they tubeless?

Anyone tried 'Hercules MR IV 0.75 Whitewall' These 185/75 14.

Michelin 185/14 MXv's I think - with the rub band round the wall. Got them from Longstone I think

Yes, I got one of them to replace a white wall on my US car.
All mine are 195/75x14s

These guys used to do Vredsteins but not showing them any longer

I looked at a few SL's in the UK, there they seem commonly to run the Michelins, which is what my 230SL has, they are good in the dry. However having had similar Michelin X's on other cars, I would avoid any quick driving on them in the wet, the breakaway is rather difficult. Anyhow it matters not for mine as I only drive in the dry.
