Last week, we were walking the docks in the harbor in Port Nelson, New South Wales. We came upon a power boat that obviously had some "condition issues." It had various cans of stuff laying around the rear deck. One was a spray can of starter fluid named "Start Ya Bastard." I am not making this up.

So no need to move this post to the Off Topic forum then? :D

I thought it qualified under "topics of general interest." But I thought I would warn the reader that it was somewhat off-topc.

Saw this message thread while making one of my "Moderator Sweeps" and thought, "We don't have a 'Ridiculous Item Forum' so maybe General Discussion is OK.
The product name fits our image of Aussies as even more straight speaking than Americans.

As an Aussie that lived in the USA for three years, a US product that always made me laugh was a 'thing' called "I Can't Believe its not Butter"
It wasn't. American truth in advertising. ::)
Dont know what is it was made off and I am not sure what it did for your good health, but it amused all the Aussies that I was working with at the time.

Hey Garry,
It's buttermilk margarine.
I used to consume that regularily when I lived in the States. Was not bad for my taste & expectation. ;)

yer sure Ashim, I won't spoil your illusion, mind you you are thin so maybe it really was good for you. ;D ;D ;D
Pinch of buttermilk powder? in genetically modified canola oil or some such with an emulsifier, an artificial colouring, a chemical preservative, plenty of sodium, carbohydrates, sugars and lots of other 'stuff' then give it all a whipping to make it all stick together. And you ate it!
I couldn't believe it wasn't butter either, I couldn't identify it so I didn't actually eat it :D :D :D

SYB....Every can of 'Quick Start' ever sold -- was implemented with 'Start Ya Bastard' either vocally or sub rosa. ..

Once you could get a UK spray-on product to keep car windows from misting - it was called "Fog Off". Not to mention the famous and politically uncorrect "Fag-U-Lite" - a device that dropped a lit John Player (cigarette) into a little serving bowl ready for the drivers' enjoyment. :-)

:o ;D :D
Yes, sure Garry..., ;)
But most of today's food has some sort of these ingredients.
It's extremely hard to keep out of any emulsifiers, artificial colouring, salt, etc...
It is more a question of the total amount of each of these ingredient you are consuming.
Anyway,...
"what doesn't kill you makes you stronger" ;)
Best,
Achim
