Title: clutch ball pin washer?
Post by: scp on November 01, 2010, 17:29:12
Hopefully an easy one:

Does the ball pin bolt have a washer (and if so, how thick)?  By "ball pin" I mean the ball-head bolt that is used as the pivot for the forked lever that connects the clutch slave cylinder to the clutch release bearing.  It is attached in the bell housing to the back of the 4-speek manual transmission.  It seems to me this is of importance, as it alters the pivot point for the lever.  I would hate to guess wrong and need to take back apart.

I am slowly re-assembling my 1968 280sl now that it is back (9 months later) from the body shop where it went from an aging tobacco brown to a perfect anthracite grey metallic.  I have about 100 pictures of everything I thought I would need to reassemble, but evidently missed this one.

Thank again for all the help to date.

Cheers,
SCP
