Title: Finding First Owners Name

Does anyone have a resource or idea how to find the First Owners name for a car when shipped from the factory or dealership

I am trying to find the first owner of 113-042-10-013334 ..... a 1965 230 SL shipped to Paris around Septemeber 1965.

I have been through the technical manual (excellent doc by the way) and ascertained my cars completion date and location of shipping but am interested in trying to get the name of the first owner.

Suggestions ?

In the US, some states will can issue a Title History or Registration History with the name of previous owners.

Not sure about other countries...some places have very strict Privacy Laws.

For Darren and other UK owners - a couple of years ago I made an application to the DVLA for all records that related to a 1968 Land Rover I owned - for a very small fee (£5?) I got printed copies of all the records they had on microfiche right back to the first owner - as an add-on to the documentation I already had, it filled in a few gaps!

I'd thoroughtly recommend it - via any local DVLA Office.
