Post by: mdsalemi on October 14, 2010, 12:10:43
Found this in the New York Times today--info on a Microcar (Isetta, Gogomobil and others) museum in Georgia, USA!

What a hoot, should bring back some fond (or horrific) memories for our European friends who grew up postwar...

The Double Bubble Ranch and Micro Car Museum is only about an hour south of my home on GA-441 (the old Dixie Highway) in Eatonton.

I have never been, I am always on my way to somewhere esle when I am in that area.

It is on my bucket list.

I used to have BMW Isetta 300 in the early eighties and it was great fun to drive if a little hairy and noisy. Mine was a right hand drive one which were a little more awkward as both the driver and the engine were on the same side which did little for the overall stability whilst also roasting your kidneys as the air cooled engine was immediately behind you.
