Beautifully restored Pagoda on eBay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/65-230SL-Euro-Spec-4spd-Show-quality-example-/160490446966?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item255df9e076. Being auctioned by one of our members. Beautiful and rare color combination. The bidding shows that Pagoda values are holding strong. If you have not seen this car, take a look.

That is a very nice car and 50.000 doesn't sound too bad - that's what you pay for an average Euro-spec Pagoda (like mine) on this side of the pond where prices for real nice unrestored cars or superb restorations have reached the 100.000 USD mark making them more expensive than a new SL 500...
Unusual colour for a car, but really nice!

And don't forget to look here too and follow this Cinderella story:

I think that is a real value at that price point. And the color is unique and looks fantastic with the interior.
This is a very fine example of the essence of the 113. Lightweight, manual transmission, soft colors and pretty curves.

Shame. Don't know why I think it's a shame he's selling it. It was a great story to follow and I kind of thought it was fun to think about that old moss covered thing going around.
Hopefully it'll find a nice new owner who will take it nowhere near a barn. It's clearly been brought back to life beautifully

I don't think it's a shame, he's a dealer. Moving cars is his business and he does it well. It didn't sell at 50K, so he obviously wants more.

Don't forget that eBay gets you great exposure. Cheap advertising! I'm sure he will have no problem whatsoever selling the car.

Sold on the phone shortly after the auction ended to a buyer in the UK for 53. I'll be sad to see it go but I enjoyed the process of restoration, it was made all the better by the advice I received from our group!

Great job Bob. The car was stunning.

congrats Bob
Hopefully I'll get to see it in the flesh. Any idea where the buyer is? And for $53 that's a lot of car here in the UK - £34k plus shipping etc is a complete steal.

But why the hub caps are black if the roof has the car colour?

Not exactly correct but in MHO it gives it more of a visual pop than if they were body color. I like the contrast.

James, the new buyer is in your neck of the woods: Richmond, Surrey.

Car now en route to the UK. See attached.
If any of you are ever considering purchasing a car from Bob I can't speak highly enough of how pleasant a transaction it was. Not your usual car industry experience.
