Title: My Pagoda After Paintwork
Post by: jaymanek on October 06, 2010, 17:13:57
So finally managed to get my car into the body shop to have the side markers removed. They also aligned the bonnet and the whole front end of the car has been repainted.

Also recently replaced the carpets and various other interior bits.... Oh and of course the 5 speed conversion.

Very happy with the results.

Very nice - but just out of curiosity, is it legal without the side markers? Here in Denmark they are mandatory and I thought that applied to all of the EU...

Great work! I am also thinking about repaiting my front bonnet. I am however worried about the possible mismatch between the new paint and the old paint.  How do your paint shop ensure perfect color match?

Hi,

Well this was a big worry, I was prepared for a full repaint but in the end we used the best quality paint and the match was perfect by just painting the bonnet and front wings.

Hello Jay,
Great looking car & fantastic color combo. :)
I'd remove that (uggly) (imitation) wood sheet foil from your dashboard. Completely non-original and strange-looking. :o
If the whole dashboard were trimmed with wood foil - ok, perhaps. But so? ???
Anyway, other than that car came out just great. :)

BTW,
is your car a 5-speed (pictures 4+5)? ZF? ;D

Best,
Achim

Hi Guys,

If you read the R&D section of this forum you will see I recently carried out the Getrag 5 Speed Conversion.

With reference to the wood, I have to admit im a little worried that behind it, the paintwork will be in bad order! Ill give it a go when im feeling brave.

Thanks

Jay

i must say that the light blue metallic was always my preferred color and my wife keeps trig to convince me to consider repainting our Pagoda. I always respond to her that I would rather... buy another one in that color and keep both;D
