Being a US model, my car has a sealed beam headlamp. I tried to find a replacement for it today, but it seems difficult in Oslo. According to the local Mercedes dealer, they are no longer able to supply this item. Does anybody know where to get it and what the part number should be?

Just get a set of H4's and some bulbs, I am running the 100/80 H4 bulbs, they are very bright. Here is a link, http://www.busdepot.com/details.jsp?partnumber=0301600118 These were just the first ones I found searching Bosch H4, Hella also makes them as well as chinese knock offs, they fit right in and plug right in, no modifications. Get a spare bulb also just in case.

Thanks for your help. I will look for the Bosch unit.

BusDepot ship worldwide, so I just ordered a set of headlights from them. Should take about a week before I get them. Great.

You are really going to like the H4's, the Z beam is great and the side lighting is incredible for spotting deer. If you get the 100/85 watt bulbs you aren't going to believe the light from these. I have had them installed with the stock wiring now for a few years, no problems. Some have recommended installing heavier wiring with heavier relays, but mine have worked fine. You could possibly get even more light though with bigger wires maybe. Although these cars do seem overbuilt in most cases.

Did you have to add or change the wiring for the higher wattage bulbs?

When increasing the wattage, always a good idea to add a relay to control the new lights. I would imagine the instructions come with how to do it. Parts commonly available at most auto parts stores.

No, I didn't change the wiring, they have worked perfect now for several years. Just plug And play.
