I have an early 1968 US spec 280 and having done numerous searches, cannot find the answer to my query.
I am aware of the evolution of the marque from 230 - 280 but cannot find out much about the evolution of just the 280 from '68-'71.
Was there a difference between Euro 280 and US 280 in the early '68 run or did this evolve after only '69?
When were the emissions controls added to the 280?
Did the early US cars have the 3.92 diff?
Other than the softer door pockets where there any other interior differences to the US 280 before '69?
Hope someone can help..
TIA.

One source is the Meredith book on the 113 series, also if you can read German Engelen's book is very detailed about the changes. I think they give some information about US updates. My copy is still buried in my mountain of boxes from my recent move so I am not able to look anything up. Meredith's book does have a few accuracy issues, but is pretty good.

Thanks JB. I assume that's the Laurence Meredith book I've just searched on Amazon.
Seems to be titled in German only!
"Das Original"
Is that the one you're referring to?
