Title: 280SL on ESPN 30 for 30
Post by: nate on September 15, 2010, 04:40:13
Curious if anyone else watched the Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova 30 for 30 that aired last night on ESPN. Interesting to learn that Martina has good taste in classic cars! There are shots throughout the documentary of Martina driving and Chris riding gun in a 70 or 71 4 speed 2 tone white and with brown wheel covers in what looks to be the Hamptons. Any Martina sightings out there? I wonder if she's on the message board? Pretty cool to see our cars featured in a recent program on ESPN, it put a smile on my face.  ;D

Are you sure it was a 70 or 71?  I only got a quick glance at the rear end and it looked like all red taillights which would make it a 69.  (I will admit I missed the first part of the show and it was a very quick shot of the rear end of the car late in the program so I could be wrong.)

I thought it had the late taillights.  Could be wrong though, need to upgrade my 42" flat screen....
