Title: Suspension noise

I seem to have more noise from my shocks and springs than what I would consider normal when i drive over rough pavement. Suspension is completely new including rubber mounting pads, etc. Suspension installed by a very competent shop and then checked again. How much spring/shock rattling do people experience?  Ive had a number of 280SLs over the years, I just don't remember my other Sl's making this much noise!

No suspension noise on my car.  Have you checked/replaced the engine and transmission mounts.  How about drive shaft donut and trailing arm bushings and there is the rear axle carrier bushing.

I had this problem till we put some new exhaust clamps and rubbers on. Roads here rough enough that I still get an ocassional clang but happy now
