I'm trying to clean up some rust around the door hinge area. It looks like theres some sloppy welds, but I'm not to sure it thats how it should be. I looked around but couldn't find a really good picture of this area, could someone help me out with a picture of what it should look like? I've circled two spots I'm after in this picture I found. Might only really be able to see the bottom one with the door off
Thanks

Ah,
an early 230.
The upper area where the fender has been welded to the A pillar looks more or less correct to me. AFAIK there are no regular spot welding dots like on the inner upper lip of the fender towards the engine hood/engine bay.
All that area should be sprayed in body color.
Your hinge brackets on the A-pillar look like the early type for the aluminum hinges (without grease spot), thus that area should be original on your car too.
For everything else the res of the pic is too small.
John Lewenauer (TheLews) should have high resolution all-original-perfect-condition pictures on this area. ;) ;)

very very much so, the first picture is perfect. Hard to see on the second picture, but where it meets with the sill, theres no gap or anything correct? it welded right to the sill? Circled is the area I'm wondering about. Thanks
