It's relatively well known that an homage to the 220 (M180/M130?) engine ended up in the old Datsun/Nissan 240Z
Indeed, the 6 cylinder engine is supposed to be very similar to that found in the Pagoda. I am not of a technical mind but am sitting here wondering.... if the engine is that similar to ours, and Z had a 5 speed box in it
You can see where I am going with this can't you? Anyone got a Z-car?

Side note on Nissan's L24 engine: "The design is often incorrectly attributed to Mercedes-Benz. In 1966 Prince Motor Company merged with Nissan. At the time of the merger, Prince was licensed to produce copies of the four and six-cylinder engines. Prince Motor Company later refined the design such that it no longer needed licensing. The engine still resembles a Mercedes in many ways, particularly the valve train."
