Title: Wheel Well Cleanup
Post by: J. Huber on March 20, 2004, 14:37:17
Hi. On my drivers side wheel well, the schutz or whatever coating it is is pretty shoddy (peeling, etc) And where metal is exposed, there is some surface rust... What would be a good plan of attack on this one? Scrape & rust-stop? Then reapply coating? Any help appreciated.

Wurth autobody products 1-800-526-5228 would have the right system to coat the inside of the well arch. When the cars came from the factory a theroplastic or rather rubberized coating was put under these areas  followed by a coat of the color paint of the body. I would call them to ask for their cataloge and inform them of your intent to restore a classic Mercedes-Benz. I am sure they can help you .
