June 17Th is the Icelandic independence day. We have been independent from Denmark since 1944. On this day it is tradition that all classic car owners in Iceland use their cars and I'm no exception to that and I love driving my 230 SL Pagoda that is one of only five pagodas in Iceland.
I like to share photos of my B-66 (Benz 1966) with flagpole, that I made, and the Icelandic national flag.

Does the pole just drop in or is it secured?

Very clever! Glad to see you are supporting your local area.

Love the flag mounting. Hope you share how you did it for those of us who would love to do it.

I was wondering what that hole was for, what a great place for a flag holder!
Looks great

This is very simple. It is just 6mm rod with tread, I made a small piece out of aluminum to secure and hold the pole in the right place under the soft top lid (see pic.).
The mercedes piece is damaged hood emblem from mercedes e-class 2006 and I used a rubber grommet under it to prevent the chrome on the lid, then tight it a little togather.

Thanks for sharing.

Creativity is the mother of invention. Thanks for the info! There is a guy near where I work that has a restored TR3 and quite often runs around with a Briitish Flag. Maybe I will have to search out a nice German flag.....;-)

Very nice indeed, I can imagine that Iceland must be a strange, but beautiful place to drive around in a Pagoda...
Best regards
Ulf
BTW - any chance of a reunification with us? We really miss you all - except for Björk, you guys should throw her into the volcano as a sacrifice :-)
