Relatively local shop charges $80/hr.  They specialize in imports.  Found out the owner, now in his 70's, use to work for MB as a mechanic in Stuttgart back in the late 60's early 70's.  He actually was one of the mechanics that put together the 250SL's and 280SL's.  :D Small world.  :D His son is working with him.

$0 per hour as I am my own shop.  ;D. Maybe that's why my damn car doesn't run right!

I think I have the unbeatable deal. When I rebuilt the engine in my 1970 280SL I was working as a foreman in a Saab dealership. We were slow at that time and since I was the only hourly mechanic I always dropped off the work first to allow my flat rate mechanics to keep making a living. I had done all the usual cleaning and organizing tasks when my employer allowed me to rebuild my own engine on the clock.  I was paid to rebuild my own engine.
