Title: New Soft Top - unknown rubber strips
Post by: dakman29 on May 06, 2010, 18:51:23
I just purchased a German canvas soft top from German Auto Tops in So. Cal.  I also purchased a set of 4 seals, front, rear, and over each window from Bud's Benz.  The box the top arrived in also contained two rubber strips about 20" long, tapered so they are thicker at one end than the other, flat on the bottom and kind of a truncated pyramid shape on top.  Can anyone tell me what those two strips are for?

These go above the side windows, glued to the soft top above the hinged frame piece. It is a weather strip. I suspect someone will point you to earlier posts.
I would also like to see some photo's of this strip in place.

Imagine, it could have been you!  :o
Just select the search function, type in "soft top rubber strips" and what do you get?

Try it, it is easy and doesn't hurt.  ;)

Thanks for the quick response.  I use the search function all the time but obviously missed this prior post.  Thanks for straightening me out.

Yes I know 66andblue. It's just that it can be a bit confusing. I search for hood and get stuff about the bonnet. I look for boot and don't get much at all. So I have to search for
an elephants dangly bit. When did you guys stop speaking english? ::)
