Here is an interesting article on the financial mess and convoluted situation particularly related to the new General Motors.

Yes, the headline is "GM's [market] value higher than Ford's" which is the grabber headline.  If you want to know a little bit about your tax dollars, Americans, you can read it there.  ;)  I particularly like the part about partial differential equations and the Black-Scholes formula, which the author believes was developed by an alien civilization.  Back in B-School in the early 1980's, my feelings on Black-Scholes were identical.  Aliens. :o http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black%E2%80%93Scholes

Mike, A couple years ago-before GM was definitely going down-the GM 5 puts were going for 50 cents and the 10 puts were a nickle.  Some body was betting big time that GM was done.  George Soros???  Whitacre(sp) at GM is a do-er.  He just might do it. ..
