How do I fine Grieg S ? I was reading an old post and saw some very good work remanufacturing the Mercedes-Benz number pates in the Engine compartment and the door Vin plate for my early 1968 280SL.

Bob, I think an easy way would be to find a post by "craigS" and send him a personal message... According to the site, he is still an active member.

He does good work.

Does anyone have a photo of the plate that is on the door jamb?  Can you post it?

Did all the 113's have this plate?

Is it this plate (see bottom of this page http://www.sl113.org/wiki/DataCard/USModelYear) that you are referring to?

Yes, thank you.

I have the plate on the inside of the engine bay, mounted on the left inner fender, the one that is painted.

I do NOT have the VIN plate on the firewall, nor do I have the paint code plate on the inside door jamb, nor do I have, if applicable, the 1969 model year emissions plate on the other side of the door jamb.

Tom Hanson says the VIN related ones from the CC are near-impossible to get; he's tried, without success.  I've contacted CraigS for same but not sure he knows which plates I'm talking about!?

Michael:
My '69 is original except for paint.
It has the painted plate in the engine bay.
It has the VIN plate on the front inner door jamb - there is nothing on the firewall.
It does not have the emissions plate, I think they began in '70 - not sure exactly when.
I have seen reproduced VIN plates, I thought they were from CC??

My Euro model does not have the long rectangular plate on the driver door jamb.  The only plates on the car are the paint codes left inner fender and vin on the upper firewall.
