Title: Looking for Vin Numbers
Post by: baileysd46 on March 30, 2010, 10:13:20
The Vin Number on my 1971 280sl is 113 044 12 023882. I'm wondering if any body knows where 023883, 023884 or 023885 are. I'm trying to add to my car's story. I've contacted Classics in Calif., e-mailed Germany and others, no luck.
Thanks. I'm drawing straws!

Hi
looks like you are quite at the very end of the production line. I cannot help but in case... mine is 023798, which is just an older brother (or sister? :D4) before yours.

I brought my Pagoda in October 2009 from NJ to Poland. and as it is springtime now I plan to refresh it a bit and start driving... at last.

By the way, did you list your car on the VIN page?

Stan

Hi Stan,
Thanks for the information, sounds like your getting ready to do some nice weather driving, have fun. I have not used the Vin Number page and I'm note sure where it is, but I'm sure I can find it. Thanks, Scott

I believe Stan is referring to the Car Registry on the Technical Manual start page.  You can register you car, which includes providing the VIN and various other details about your car.

Contact Mike Kunz at the Classic Center in CA for info about the last 280SL. They recently bought it from a seller in Texas. I believe there was a thread about this car in November of 2009.

Douglas,
just as a matter of curiosity, do you know what was the VIN of the last Pagoda produced?

Is it possible to enter your VIN number and see if it has been registered before by a PO
I have tried using the search facility but got no where.

Search this page for your VIN: http://www.sl113.org/wiki/Registry/Start

If it's not there then we don't know!
